Using Viveza 2 can help keeps things a lot more natural too that plus the CS6 ACR tools and later combined for single shot HDR or the 32bit thing from Adorama if you can't get away with single shot (often with Exmor-like sensors, not as often with Canon) and the scene is amenable to multiple shots. I loved the suggestion early in this thread to move the HDR file into Lightroom after combination. I hope the sale of Nik will not stop development. Liked Efex better, as it has localized control available and there were other ways tones and edges seemed better. Sounds like it would slow down editing a shoot, though.

I always wonder about how to get and use the command-line version of Enfuse code. For these setups I use my old aluminum 5-section many-pound Gitzo tele-Studex that must weigh 20+ pounds! I too use this with a 17TSE-often showing lots of windows like the shots above. Good tripod and shutter release care necessary to preserve alignment. Used my standard import into Lightroom and then turned on Lens Corrections - Remove Chromatic Aberration as there was very slight colour fringing on some of the high contrast edges (only really visible when the bright edge was very out of focus, but lets give enfuse the cleanest data possible) It was very overcast and quite breezy by this time to expousre was about 1/8 second which means many of the plants are slightly blurry from the wind motion. So I manually set the focus to infinity and fired off the sequence from DSL controller. 12 shots meant that the final focus was at around 2m, which was fine for the logs in the foreground (although not quite enough for the grass in front of them I realised afterwards). I tried larger step size but even 1 step on the middle setting was far too much. Some quick tests showed that these setting would work OK for f 11 at 70mm on my lens, probably a bit of overkill in fact. I decided to run the sequence by starting at infinity focus (set manually just looking through the lens' focus distance window, which is easily accurate enough for f 8 / f 11), and use DSLR controller to step in from there. It can also automate all sorts of photo sequencing. I use it together with a little wifi widget to let me control the camera wirelessly from a phone or tablet.
